About LIÁ – The Messinian bliss

LIÁ premium virgin olive oil was created 15 years ago by Cristina and Konstantinos Stribakos, the LIA cultivators. They produce the purest extra virgin olive oil, combining the wisdom of the past with the innovation of the future.

The Request

Our goal was to implement and “bring to life” this site with high aesthetics, with emphasis to the character and uniqueness of the company and of course a convenient and fast user experience.

The Solution

We proceeded to build a custom site with emphasis on animations for the menu, the images, and the text. We put the entire site in a smooth and layered motion throughout the user’s navigation.

But under no circumstances did we want to burden the site and its performance and so we moved on to the use of the Barba.js library which allows navigation between pages without reloading them each time, and in addition offers us the effects of transitioning between pages.

Finally, wanting to emphasize the product itself, we built a 3d model of the bottle which is in 360° movement as the user scrolls.

This quite impressive feature was achieved by using webGL technology that renders the 3d object through the browser in opposition to being just a plain video.
